The Barker Happenings......
Life seems to slip away on you and before you know it you are further behind. It has been a bust summer so far but it seems we are finally taking a breather. We have had some great things going on so bear with me as this might get long but I don't want to leave anything out.
Kent and I had the opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic again this year for another great trip together.
This is where we hung out everyday....at the Spa pool! We have a friend Pablo that works here that pampers us and takes care of us while we soak in the sun!!
The view from our room!!
We took a ride on a Gondola up the side of the mountain with some friends, our friend Pablo and his 2 daughters!!
We found a Giant Centipede or whatever it was...Slimy yet Satisfying!!
There was a guy climbing a coconut tree by us so Pablo went and got one and cut it open so we could try the cocobut juice. It was kind of warm and I didn't like it much!!

Summer Games 2009

We had the fun opportunity to go to Summer Games and have all 3 girls play for Rampage. What a fun trip!! Erica and Brynlee got to play together as Erica was guest player because Brynlee's little team was playing up a level so Erica and a few of her soccer buddies played with them. They didn't win any games but they sure played well. Kass' team started off the tournament playing the hardest team there and we only lost 1-0, tied the 2nd game, won 2-0 the 3rd game and won the semifinal game 1-0 to take us to the gold medal game. The girls ended up losing that one but still brought home the silver medal. We were so proud of them and the way they played. They are an amazing group of girls with good talent and great parents. Way to go Rampage!!!

Last days of school, field trips,Olympiad and Birthday Celebration
Erica and Allison Norris got to participate in the Math/Science Olympiad in Pattern Blocks. They did awesome and took 3rd in the District. Way to go girls!!

Preston had a swim party on his last day of Preschool. Well actually this was his last day because his MOTHER forgot the real last day which was 2 days later. I think I deserve the Mother of the Year award for that one!!
Preston and his cute friend Luke Norris
My little guy turned 4 on May 29th and had his first friend birthday party!! We had a cute clown come and entertain these 3 and 4 year olds. It's a good thing because I probably would have gone crazy!!

Brynlee and the 2nd grade went to the Tracy Aviary and I got to go with her and help. She was so excited to go and have me there. I hope that excitement continues as she gets older....hopefully she'll still want me there.

Brynlee and Mrs. Stoddard. She is absolutely one of the best teachers ever. We have loved her and if I could take her with Bryn year after year I would!!
My biggest baby(aka)Kassidy has finished elementary and is heading towards junior high. She has some amazing friends that she has had since Kindergarten and finished this year with amazing teachers. We love her, the choices she makes and the great young lady she is becoming!!

Mother's Day and Great Kids
Kent and I went to St.George and Vegas for a few days and returned home on Mother's Day in the afternoon. My Mother and Mother-in-law took turns watching our children. On Sunday, my Mom had to leave my kids until we got home so they were alone for a couple of hours. My kids are usually pretty good when we are gone but sometimes you never know. When we got home we walked in the front door to a Welcome Home sign on one side and a Happy Mother's Day on the other. The house was spotless, the table was set, gifts in place and Kassidy made our family's favorite breakfast, which we call "Roll up Pancakes" aka..Dutch Pancakes. She has never made these before and they were wonderful. She even made one into an "M" for Mother. I am glad I got a shot because it wasn't 2 seconds later that the M was missing and Preston was hiding behind a chair eating it. Guess he couldn't wait!! I am so grateful for wonderful children who are good, good kids. I love them so much!! Thanks for making it a special day!!

Nothing quite like Sisterly love.....well this is how it is most of the time!!
After a long drive home and apparently a long day for Preston, he and Daddy went to lay on the tramp and this is what I found. Too Cute!!

And.....this is what happens when your 3 year old is addicted to the Wii. Priceless!!

Womens Conference BYU
I was able to go to Womens Conference a few weeks ago with some GREAT friends. This has become an annual tradition and we love it. Not only do you get to be around good friends but you get a recharge of your batteries from all the wonderful messages and thoughts.
We stopped on our way down and got pedicures and ate California Rolls...Kami and Kammie enjoying themselves

This was a much welcomed stop at PF CHangs. Oh the food....it is sooo good!!

Susan was feeling a bit hungry!!
Good times....Good friends

We were blessed to be able to hear from Elder L. Tom Perry
