WOW!!

WOW.......was all I could say when I pulled up my blog and realized that it still said trick or treat. Really? Where did all that time go? Well at least I changed the background for now. As soon as next week is done, I will really get on here and post all the latest happenings from Halloween till now. Going back to school has really turned me around. I have enjoyed it but everything else has gone to pot. Be on the lookout in the next little bit for the updates!!

13 Great Years and counting!!

So I am a little slow in posting this but it couldn't go without notice that Kent and I celebrated 13 years this summer. I am so grateful for him and all he does for me and our little family. It's amazing to look back and see how far we have come. 4 great children and tons of great memories!! I truly cherish our friendship and relationship.

We look so young and unaware of the journey ahead!! Good times!!

Happy birthday Brynlee and Dad

Brynlee turned 8 this year and Dad....well we won't disclose is age!! Let's just say it was a Happy birthday for all. I am grateful to such a sweet daughter who loves life, friends and family and yes sometimes in that order. She is such an important part of our family and we love her. We love and cherish you both!!
What a great group of girls!!

It's ok Kent.....you will get used to getting older!!

Random Happenings

Oh my......where does the time go? I can't seem to keep up on this blog but then I look at some others and see they are struggling too. Makes me feel a little better. I was told by a good friend that these blogs should really be kept up the best we can because they tend to end up being our journaling and our history of our family. Baby steps, baby steps right? I am going to try to be better. But anyway, this is all about catch up....from the last day of school, to birthdays, to friends, soccer and family fun. Brace yourself and enjoy the ride!!

Brynlee is playing for Rampage and loves it. This is their team at the Strikers Cup in Layton. They ended taking 2nd place. Way to go girls!!

Rampage Wolves with their great coaches Spencer and Tyler

Brynlee getting her medal

Erica plays for the Firecrackers and they ended up taking 2nd also in a dramatic, heart wrenching shootout. There is no easy way in that situation. Their team has come a long way in the past year!! Great job girls!! Great team, great friends with great coaches, Dustin and Jed

The dreaded celebration tunnel.....we mom's love it, now the dad's...that's another story!!

Kassidy's 12th birthday

I can't eeven believe that I am writing about Kassidy and her 12th birthday. It doesn't seem right that she has grown up so fast. I remember like it was yesterday walking her to the bus stop to go to Kindergarten and now I WILL walk her to the bus for JR. High. She may not like it but I am not ready to cut the strings quite yet! She has grown into such a beautiful young woman and we love her very much! She is such an important part of our family. Happy Birthday sweetie....we hope you have had a great birthday this year!!

All grown up...what a cute girl!!

Kassidy has a great group of friends and we sure love them all!!

Northern California trip

We took the kids to visit my Grandma, Aunt Peggy and cousins again this year in Santa Rosa. It was a fun, relaxed trip. We hit the beaches, Six Flags and jsut swam at the resort pool. Good times....Good memories!!

The girls were having a great time but that water was very cold!!

Playing with cousins Drake and Bella

Kassidy was being a little silly and lost her head!!

The Barker Happenings......

Life seems to slip away on you and before you know it you are further behind. It has been a bust summer so far but it seems we are finally taking a breather. We have had some great things going on so bear with me as this might get long but I don't want to leave anything out.

Kent and I had the opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic again this year for another great trip together.

This is where we hung out everyday....at the Spa pool! We have a friend Pablo that works here that pampers us and takes care of us while we soak in the sun!!

The view from our room!!

We took a ride on a Gondola up the side of the mountain with some friends, our friend Pablo and his 2 daughters!!

We found a Giant Centipede or whatever it was...Slimy yet Satisfying!!

There was a guy climbing a coconut tree by us so Pablo went and got one and cut it open so we could try the cocobut juice. It was kind of warm and I didn't like it much!!

Summer Games 2009

We had the fun opportunity to go to Summer Games and have all 3 girls play for Rampage. What a fun trip!! Erica and Brynlee got to play together as Erica was guest player because Brynlee's little team was playing up a level so Erica and a few of her soccer buddies played with them. They didn't win any games but they sure played well. Kass' team started off the tournament playing the hardest team there and we only lost 1-0, tied the 2nd game, won 2-0 the 3rd game and won the semifinal game 1-0 to take us to the gold medal game. The girls ended up losing that one but still brought home the silver medal. We were so proud of them and the way they played. They are an amazing group of girls with good talent and great parents. Way to go Rampage!!!

Last days of school, field trips,Olympiad and Birthday Celebration

Erica and Allison Norris got to participate in the Math/Science Olympiad in Pattern Blocks. They did awesome and took 3rd in the District. Way to go girls!!

Preston had a swim party on his last day of Preschool. Well actually this was his last day because his MOTHER forgot the real last day which was 2 days later. I think I deserve the Mother of the Year award for that one!!

Preston and his cute friend Luke Norris

My little guy turned 4 on May 29th and had his first friend birthday party!! We had a cute clown come and entertain these 3 and 4 year olds. It's a good thing because I probably would have gone crazy!!

Brynlee and the 2nd grade went to the Tracy Aviary and I got to go with her and help. She was so excited to go and have me there. I hope that excitement continues as she gets older....hopefully she'll still want me there.

Brynlee and Mrs. Stoddard. She is absolutely one of the best teachers ever. We have loved her and if I could take her with Bryn year after year I would!!

My biggest baby(aka)Kassidy has finished elementary and is heading towards junior high. She has some amazing friends that she has had since Kindergarten and finished this year with amazing teachers. We love her, the choices she makes and the great young lady she is becoming!!
